Adaptation
Day 2 11/5/2007 Adaptation
Doha is really boring… Nothing to do at all. Luckily last night Khoi (my fellow intern from Vietnam) and I went to get food, so we got into the kitchen to sort out our lunch. On Fridays, the town is dead until 3pm. Anyway, I cooked cabbage together with mushrooms and dried shrimps, and steamed egg with smuggled lup cheong... Yummy!
After that we went straight to Doha City Centre via cab. Yes, it was very hot. We waited for about 20 minutes before we got a cab. The view of Doha in the day is very different from the night. It’s much dustier and browner… The whole country is like a construction site. So many constructions going on!!! Opportunities!!
Finally, at Doha City Centre, we surveyed around for internet cafes and finally settled down for an Italian CafĂ© that allows unlimited internet for just 10QR about S$4.50. Hence this blog begins… Managed to speak to my dad, Kim and my brother. It was worth it compared to the S$0.66/minute. Chatted to all for more than 15 minutes each!!
Stay tuned for more Doha actions!
